Meet our Dancers

Debbie Saravia Co Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer

 

Debbie has been dancing and choreographing in San Francisco and the East Bay/Tri-        Valley for over 40 years.  Her primary focus in dance has been ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary and has choreographed and performed in numerous productions around the Bay Area and East Bay over that time. She currently teaches Ballet and Dance Fusion classes to teens and adults and has done so locally for the past 16 years. Debbie was recently nominated for a Shellie Award for Choreography for her work with the San Ramon Community Theater.

Lindsey Saravia Neville Co Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer

 

Lindsey Saravia Neville graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Performing Arts: Dance from Saint Mary’s College of CA. While performing with the Saint Mary's Dance Company, her choreography was performed at the American College Dance Festival in Ohio and at the Dance IS Festival in Berkeley, CA. Upon graduation, Lindsey was accepted to the Independent Study Program at the Alvin Ailey School for Dance in Manhattan, where she studied under dance legends like Denise Jefferson and Peter O'Brien. Now back in the Bay Area, she is honored and thrilled to choreograph and dance for her local community in JATS.

 

 

Ericka Pieracci Dancer

 

Born and raised in San Jose, Ericka has been dancing for more than two decades. Her training began with Atlas School of Dance in San Jose and later with Marie Stinnett in Campbell. Halfway through her high school education, Ericka transferred to Abraham Lincoln High School in San Jose, a performing arts magnet school, to become a member of the elite dance ensemble known as The Lincoln Convertibles. While being a Lincoln Convertible, Ericka received the Director’s Award as well as the team’s Grand National Champion honor. She continued to pursue her love for dance with the California State University of Long Beach dance department, where she studied modern and ballet technique and choreography. She is grateful to be an original member of San Ramon’s professional resident dance company, JATS!

 

Kim Lin Dancer

 

Kim has loved to dance for as long as she can remember.  She trained in ballet and jazz through her teen years, performing and winning accolades with her high school dance team. In college, Kim discovered and flourished in modern and lyrical dance and has trained in these styles ever since. Kim is a graduate of UC Berkeley and works as a civil engineer in the water industry. She lives with her husband and two energetic boys in San Ramon. Kim is honored and grateful to be performing with JATS in her own community.

 

Lacey Carter Dancer, Choreographer

 

Lacey has a BFA in dance from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington.   Here she trained in Modern and Ballet working with such people as KT Neihoff, Pat Hon, Tonya Lockyer and Wade Madsen, to name a few.  She then went on to get her MFA in dance with emphasis in choreography and performance at Mills College in   Oakland, CA.  Here she dance works by choreographic standouts such as Trisha   Brown, Yvonne Rainer and Molissa Fenley.  She is one of the few people in the world that is allowed to dance the seminal work Trio A as a performer, selected by Yvonne Rainer.  At Mills, she also danced for other bay area artists such as Marc Bamuthi Joseph and Shinichi Iova-Koga.  Since graduation Lacey has danced with The Thick Rich Ones and On3 Dance Company in addition to Jumpin’ at the Sun.  She also teaches dance at Studio 8 Dance and Performing Arts Center where she gets to impart her passion for dance on the little ones.

 

Sarah Clapper Lopez Dancer

 

Sarah has been dancing since she was five years old. Throughout her youth, she danced competitively in jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical. Sarah studied modern dance and choreography at the University of California, Davis under the direction of David Grenke, a former principal dancer for the Paul Taylor Dance Company. She recently began training with Debbie Saravia and is absolutely thrilled to join Jumpin’ at the Sun. Sarah lives in Dublin with her supportive husband and two young kids and loves to perform for her local community.

 

Colleen Carrion Dancer, Choreographer

 

Originally from Scottsdale, AZ, she holds a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from Arizona State University, where she performed with the University Dance Theater, Lyric Opera Theater and Kelly Roth & Dancers. Moving to the Bay Area to pursue additional performance opportunities, she performed with Anne Bluethenthal & Dancers for seven amazing and inspiring seasons. She shared her passion for dance by teaching classes for all ages and her choreography has been shown in the Bay Area through the Pilot Program, Works in the Works and AB&D Productions. Colleen currently lives in Dublin with her husband and three kids. She has spent the last 7 years coaching competitive cheer in the Dublin Unified School District and cheering on her boys at their wrestling matches and baseball games. She is happy to be dancing again and beyond excited and extremely honored for this opportunity to perform with JATS.

Kimberly Jones Dancer

 

Kim has been dancing since the age of four. She grew up performing and competing in tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, and lyrical under the direction of Duane Dance Academy in Hayward. Kim was on Castro Valley High School’s national championship dance team and returned there after college to coach the Varsity Cheer team. She currently teaches 7th grade science and dance as an elective class at Pine Valley Middle School in San Ramon, where she lives with her husband and 2 year old son. Kim is so excited to join Jumpin’ at the Sun and to be returning to the stage.

Melanie Tirrell Dancer

 

Melanie Tirrell began her dance journey with Palo Alto Ballet School many years ago. She
danced with them through high school and then attended UC Irvine as a Dance major. While in college, she found her love of musical theater. She was accepted into a special program that took her to NYC to study with Broadway professionals for 6 weeks in both her junior and senior years. After graduation, she worked in professional theaters throughout the LA and Orange County area. The big move to NYC city happend after receiving her Actors’ Equity union card. After several years in NY, she made her way back to the Bay Area where she taught dance in Berkeley. She is now a 6th grade teacher in Hayward and mom to two amazing boys. Melanie is honored and thrilled to be joining Jumpin’ at the Sun and working with such wonderful and
talented dance professionals.

Vanessa McCormick Dancer

Vanessa’s passion for dance developed at the early age of 2, and she danced and performed from then all the way until she graduated from high school in 2008. When she entered Sonoma State University she chose to take a break from dance. Having not performed since she was 17, she decided to audition for a show her senior year and after that she was hooked. Vanessa changed her major and began pursuing a degree in dance at SSU, where she studied under Kristen Daley, Christine Cali, Scott Wells, Jennifer Jaffe, and Heather Visser. In 2014, she graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts with a concentration in Dance and began teaching 6 days a week. She currently teaches at Triple Threat Performing Arts in Livermore as well as Petaluma School of Ballet in Petaluma. Vanessa teaches 1 ½ year olds up to adult. Her styles include jazz, tap, contemporary, lyrical, modern, musical theatre, heels, and hip hop. While teaching recurring classes in both Petaluma and Livermore, she also teaches workshops and master classes around the bay area when invited. Vanessa has performed all over the bay area as well as at ACDF. She works closely with the nonprofit pre-professional/ professional dance company, North Coast Ballet California, providing specialty training and choreography. Vanessa is so excited to be a part of JATS and is thankful for the opportunity to perform with a group of passionate, strong artists.
